Crooked Frames Privacy Policy

Effective October 16, 2026

Crooked Frames is a mobile game made by NunnCurtis Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game uses, why, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email us at support@nunncurtislabs.com.

The short version

  • Your progress and settings stay on your phone.
  • The game shows one small banner ad from Google AdMob on its menus, never during play. Google may use your device's advertising ID and related information to show and measure ads.
  • The game sends Google Analytics for Firebase a few gameplay events, such as when a run starts and ends, so we can see what players enjoy.
  • If the game crashes or hits an error, it sends us a technical error report through Sentry so we can fix it. These reports don't include your name, email or contacts.
  • If you sign in to Google Play Games, your achievements are saved to that profile by Google.
  • The game has no accounts of its own, no in-app purchases and no chat.

Information kept on your device

The game saves your progress (your bank, the gear you've bought, the paintings on your hideout wall, how many times you've been caught, and play stats), your settings and which gesture hints you've already seen in the app's storage on your phone.

We don't receive this information. Android may include it in your phone's backup to your Google account, under your backup settings. Uninstalling the game, or Settings, Erase progress, deletes it from your phone.

Ads (Google AdMob)

The game is free and shows one banner ad on its menus, served by Google AdMob. To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect and use:

  • your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers
  • your approximate location (from your IP address)
  • information about how you use the game, such as ad views and taps
  • basic device information and diagnostics

Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the UK and some US states), the game asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings, Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

Ads are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences with parental guidance. Google's use of this information is covered by Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and its explanation of how it uses information from apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Game statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

To learn which parts of the game people enjoy and where they stop playing, the game sends Google Analytics for Firebase a small set of gameplay events: when a run starts and ends (with how long it took, the cash earned and whether you got away), each time you straighten a frame, and which screen you're on. Firebase adds basic device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, approximate country) and an app instance ID. These events contain no name, email, contacts or precise location, and we don't use them to identify you. Google's privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and its explanation of how Firebase handles data is at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Crash and error reports (Sentry)

When the game crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to Sentry, a service we use to find and fix problems. A report contains technical details only: what went wrong and where in the game's code, the game version, your phone's model and operating system version, and the screen you were on. It doesn't include your name, email address, contacts, photos or precise location, and we don't use it for advertising. Sentry may process your IP address to receive the report but does not store it with the report. Reports are kept for up to 90 days. Sentry's privacy policy is at https://sentry.io/privacy/.

Google Play Games

If you're signed in to Google Play Games on your phone, the game unlocks achievements on your Play Games profile. This is handled by Google under your Google account and Google's privacy policy. We see only achievement counts that Google reports to developers, not your personal information. You can manage Play Games sign-in and visibility in the Play Games app.

The paintings

The paintings in the game are public domain works from museums' open access collections. Showing them doesn't involve any information about you.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your personal information.
  • We don't ask you to create an account or give us your name, email, phone number or contacts.
  • We don't use precise location, your camera, your microphone or your files.
  • We don't offer in-app purchases.

Children

Crooked Frames is meant for players aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

  • Change ad consent at any time in Settings, Ad privacy choices.
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
  • Erase all game progress in Settings, Erase progress, or by uninstalling the game.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to how it's used. Email us at support@nunncurtislabs.com and we'll help. For data held by Google (ads, analytics and Play Games), use Google's tools at https://myaccount.google.com.

Security

Information sent by the game to Google and Sentry is encrypted in transit.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version at this address with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the game's release notes.
